The Town of Black Brook is located in southern Polk County and has a population of 1208 according to the 2000 Census.

Black Brook borders the City of Amery and the Town of Lincoln on the north, Village and Town of Clear Lake on the east, St. Croix County on the south and the Town of Alden on the west. 

The Town is governed by a three member Board and a seven member Plan/Park Commission.  The Board meets monthly, the third Thursday of each month and the Plan/Park Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month.  All meetings are held at the Town Hall located at 99 75th Street   , Clear Lake, WI 54005 and phone no. 715-263-2932

The Town is rural and consists mainly of residents on small acreages, farms and a few commercial businesses located along State Highway 46 south of Amery, State Highway 63 south of Clear Lake and a few sprinkled throughout the Town.  The lakes located in Black Brook are King, Island, Trident, Long, Snake and Bone. 

The Apple River flows through the Town and the Black Brook Dam and Flowage and the Creeks of Bull Brook, Snake, Black Brook, French and Parker are located in the Town. 

Black Brook requires building permits and is in the process of developing its Comprehensive Plan.
